Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am stopping my divorce (California). The civ-120 is supposed to be used to serve the other party after the civ-110 (request for dismissal) is filled. In my case both parties were required to sign the request so do I still need the civ-120?

Yes. Most of the rules that govern the time periods to appeal or set aside a dismissal or even seek costs are triggered and shortened by proper service and filing of a document marked "notice of dismissal."
