Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am a step parent of 2 pre-teens, my husband works weeks out of town and both kids lived with us for almost 2 years. I stayed at home with them and our now 2 year old while the biological mom took a mental break from life in general. My question is she has a severe case of bipolar disorder yet we took her to court because we had both kids yet we were paying child support to her, yet she filed for full custody claiming I abused the kids by putting soap in their mouths (1 time). It has been 3 months since the kids went over but they are out of controle, no disipline or rules, the mother is having a major break down because of the kids. our child support was raised to 1000.00 a month but now she is threating to call the cops on the oldest 14. With the hopes that we will take her (but still pay child support) She has requested I not be alone with the kids so my husband will have to quit his job. She is going to file mental disability and we will then have both kids and pay her 2200.23 a month, for spousal support. this is almost imposable for us,she said he would pay her the rest of his life for leaving her, she is very smart, she does not want us to get anywhere in life so she is deliberaty making it so hard for us. Is this right
