Legal Question in Family Law in California

Being sued

My ex boyfriend is suing me for money he claims he borrowed to me. The sum of $30,000. additionally, he has doctored two promissory notes that look as if I signed, however I have never signed said documents and he has yet to provide the ''originals'' the case is going to trial, which could cost up to $25,000, money that I don't have. What do I do?
