Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am being sued for spousal and child support. I know that my exhusband is working under the table with a contractor. How can I supbeona records from the contractor showing the checks he writes my ex? Also, can I subpeona unemployment checks, his bank records that have to do with checks from this particular person, and union emloyment paperwork? Who signs the subpeona?

Thank you!

The best way to do a subpoena is to hire a company that specializes in subopena's for lawyers and individuals. If you want to do it yourself you can check out Nolo books on discovery and how to represent yourself in a divorce. Those may help you to determine the legal rules required to perform discovery.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
