suing ex-husband for medical expences

Regarding my 20 yr old son who is diagnosed schizophrenic & bipolar. Approx 1.5 yrs under Maricopa County Court ordered treatment. Hospitalized 17 times since 7-04. Currently at a private dual diagnosis treatment center in San Clemente, Calif. I, Mom, am continuing to pay for all of Ryan's medical expences not covered by ins. He is considered as having a disability & collects SSI. His father will not/has not helped financially or in any other way. I need to sue him for at lease half of all past/present/future medical/treatment costs. So far, I have $36,000 paid into this treatment center & don't know if/how much the ins will reimburse. This is in addition to all of the other expenses that I have paid for & my time as I haven't been able to to work steadly throughout these past few years because of helping with Ryan's care. How do I go about suing my ex? What type of lawyer do I need? I'm in Arizona, ex's in Calif. Thank you.
