Legal Question in Family Law in California

Supervised Visitation

For 6 months now I've been seeing my son Supervised only, because my past struggles with alcoholism became a hot topic in court. I've more than stabilized: employed, active member of AA, stable residence. How much longer will my son and I have to endure this, before the ''Supervised'' visitation order is removed and restored to normalcy?

Re: Supervised Visitation

Until you bring a motion to modify the court order based upon changed circumstances. My experience is that courts usually reward parents for getting their act together by giving them more custodial time. I think you may have a very good chance of success here.

That is in the discretion of the judge. Bring a motion to modify the order and ask the court for unsupervised visits or a date when the visits may be unsupervised. You have a better chance if you hire an attorney who is familiar with the judge. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
