Legal Question in Family Law in California

Support for child going on Foreign Exchange Program

I have a 16 year old going on a Foreign Exchange Program for 2-3 months. I have an order to receive support. Since the child will be living abroad, will support continue or be discontinued during the program? The host family will only be required to provide meals, I will have to continue to meet the remainder of the child's needs. What do I need to do to convince the court to continue support during the time of the program?

Thank you!

Re: Support for child going on Foreign Exchange Program

Child support does not stop just because the child is temporarily away from home. The child is still in high school, right? Congradulations to your child for being selected.
