Legal Question in Family Law in California
Taking child out of state
I live in florida but my son lives with his father in california. I am trying to move out there but now she wants to take him to Oregon. Once she moves to Oregon I will want to go back to court and change visitation schedule, do we start a new case or does CA still have jurisdiction? thx

Re: Taking child out of state
So long as one parent resides in California it retains jurisdiction over the issue of child custody, assuming there is presently a valid custody order. You should consult with an attorney in the county in which the current custody order was made.
