Term, Detrimental, under Probate Code 1514

Hello:

I need a defination or refererance to this term ''detramental to a child's well being''

Paterenal Grandparents trying to obtain custody over my 10 yr old boy. We both do not want this, he or I. under california Probate Code 1514 of California law. What is defined by ''DETRIMENTAL?''

The g-parents would have to prove that you are not fit to parent and that the child living with you would not be in his best interest and living with them would be in his best interest.

Where's the father on all this?

Unless you have given them a strong basis for their guardianship action, they should fail. See case called Troxel. Also multiple family code sections and recent case law.
