Legal Question in Family Law in California
Terminating Attorney
What is my legal obligation to terminate an attorney. I sent the law firm a letter stating that they had provided the service requested and that I no longer need their representation. They stated they needed to submit a letter to the court stating that there will be a change of attorney and that I will represent myself. It has been over two months and over two hundred dollars in further legal fees and I'm still being billed by this law firm.

Re: Terminating Attorney
You need to sign the substitution of attorney so they can substitute out with the court without doing a motion and charging you for it.
Good luck.
As always contact an attorney in your area if you have additional questions.
