Legal Question in Family Law in California

Terminating child support payment obligations

I have a child in a foster home that will be 19 years of age in March, 2000 and will be graduating in June, 2000. Does my child support payments stop when she is 19 years old or when she graduates?

Re: Terminating child support payment obligations

The normal duty of child support would stop at 19 if the child

is attending high school full time. This would terminate any

order of child support. There are limited circumstances in which

a parent can remain liable for the support of an incapacitated adult

child. See Family Code Section 3910.
