Legal Question in Family Law in California
termination of noncustodial paternal rights
i am trying to find out how to have my daughter's unfit father's rights terminated. he has had no contact with her in 2 1/2 years, he has never paid child support or contributed to her health or well being, he is a fellony convit and drug addict. i see plenty of reasons to ask the court to revoke his rights, based on what i've read as california statues, but i do not know how to go about it.

Based on the provided information, you should file an OSC in your jurisdiction with the proper filing fees and declarations. Warmest regards.

Need more info. Retain counsel to assist. Not real complicated, however, cutting off parental rights, even under such circumstances can be difficult.

Terminating parental right without another person to take the place of the displaced parent. You should consider obtaining an order that he is not to have any visitation with the child. You really need to consult with a family law attorney and review the facts of your case and the options available.
