Legal Question in Family Law in California

termination of parental rights

My husband's ex terminated her parental rights two years ago. She has threatened my husband that she still has rights to talk and see their daughter. Is this true? She tries to go behind my husbands back and send emails to the child. Do we have any legal right in this situation?

Thank you.

Re: termination of parental rights

If your husband's ex terminated her rights she has no legal relationship and may not phone, email etc without his consent. He should write to her (certified mail) requesting that she stop. He may seek a restraining order if she persists. I might suggest that he offer to send her periodic updates (like a photo and short note at Christmas) provided she only contact him to keep her address current.
