Legal Question in Family Law in California
Texas Child Support - Pre-payment
I am roughly 4+ months ahead in my child support payments through the state of Texas. I am wanting to stop making payments after fully paid, but I do not want the OAG to come after me because they did not do the math.
My daughter graduates shortly and turns 18 in late Dec. My estimates are that my CS would be completed on 8/1 with my advance payments taken into account (a little extra on each payment for 13 years).
What should I be doing to make sure that I do not over pay, and ensure that the OAG does not come after me for more money than I owe? Is there some paperwork that I submit showing everything is paid ahead (with the understanding that any modifications my ex gets in the last months might change my debt)?
