how much time does someone get for bigamy? my moms husband is from syria and he was still married when he married my mom.I found that out from my friend that knows his family in syria.

The DA can charge it as a misdemeanor or a felony. They have to charge a misdemeanor within 1 year of the marriage and the felony within 3. A misdiemeanor is up to one year in jail. I'm not sure off the top of my head what the maximum sentence for felony bigamy is.
