Legal Question in Family Law in California

Transfer Case To County I Reside

My children and I currently reside in a different county than the one my dissolution is taking place. It has been 19 months, and our divorce is not final. We fled to the county we now live in and it is very diffucult to travel back and forth to all of hearings. There is a 3yr stay away order, and I have 100% legal & physical custody. I want to request a Transfer and Order. Do I have grounds to have this case transfered?

Re: Transfer Case To County I Reside

You could probably get the change of venue now based upon the children living in a different county but it would be better to complete the property division and get a judgment first. There's no reason for it to take so long. Set the remaining issues for trial and get it over with. Then move the case so that any post-judgment motions to review/modify the visitation will be more convenient.
