Legal Question in Family Law in California

transfer of ownership documents?

my father died intestate in 2003. becus we loved and trusted his wife of 4 years, the four children transferred his home, IRA, and misc to his widow - with the promise that she would in turn leave it to us in her will. now surprise surprise she has passed and left all to her kids. is there anyway we can get a copy of the documents we signed giving all to the mother in law? yes we were so dumb and trusting we didnt even keep a photocopy. her daughter had the documents drawn up and they were notarized by an attorney we know but he has no record. pls advise.

Re: transfer of ownership documents?

Sounds like you made an agreement with your father's wife. You still have a chance to enforce the agreement. You should consider retaining an attorney soon.
