Legal Question in Family Law in California

travel with child

I have physical custody and share legal custody of my 7yr old son. I need to travel from California to Indiana (driving- business related) since he is on summer vacation from school I would like him to go with me, his mom says it will interfere with her weekend visitation (she gets him every other weekend and a few hours a week) and can't be without seeing him for that long so she is saying I can't take him with me. She is not easy to reason with, so there is no mutual agrement. Is there a legal way to or form to fill so I can get permission to travel with my son without any trouble?

Re: travel with child

You would have to get a court order allowing you to take him with you. Have your offered make up visits for the visitation time she will miss. An attorney would be able to discuss the facts with you to determine the best approach.
