Legal Question in Family Law in California

Traveling Out Of Country

I am divorced and would like to take my daughter on a cruise. Do I need to have written permission from her father? Are there legalities involved? Thank you,

Re: Traveling Out Of Country

Whether you need written permission depends upon what your current child sharing order says. It may require written permission to take the child out of state. If your cruise will interfere with her father's scheduled visitation, you will need his permission. It would be best to obtain the written permission regardless of what the judgment says. It will avoid the he said/she said problem in court it the matter comes to that. If he does not give you permission you can ask the court for permission, which will probably be granted.
