traveling with minor children

Do I need written authorization from my future ex-husband to travel from California to Hawaii for a 6 days vacation?

The answer to your question would depend upon the terms of the custody and visitation order. You should first attempt to get a written agreement from father to allow you to take the children to Hawaii for the vacation. If he will not agree then you should go to court and get an order allowing you to go no the vacation.
