Legal Question in Family Law in California

nothing in the trust in the name of the children

our father was just hit and killed by a car and our stepmom gave us this wierd 2 page summary of the will. None of the childrens names are mentioned at all and everything, including our fathers business that we have worked at for over 20 years, goes to the stepmom. Only upon her death, do the children get anything. Is this legal?

Your question involves probate law, not family law. Resubmit and ask for the response of a probate attorney. You have a right to a copy of the will and you should obtain a copy and see a probate attoreny. Good Luck, Pat McCrary

Sounds like you don't really know what's written in the actual will. get a copy of the full version. you may have some rights. contact a probate litigator near you.
