Uncles Mental Health No longer Good

My uncle has had a mental health problem it looks to be schizophrenia he thinks there are people after him all the time and laughs to himself all the time, he reads comics thinking that aliens are really going to get him. He has a few toy airplanes that he has as his protection from the monsters he thinks that are going to get him. What can I do to get him help he had been ordered by the court to take pills but does not and over the years is illness has become worse. He has a family but is basically taken taken care of by my grandmother who can barely take care of herself. I want to help what can I do?

You can apply for a conservatorship over him.

You can call the authorities and have him committed on a 72 hour hold for evaluation. You will have to state and explain that you think he is a danger to himself and others. Given his living circumstances he may very well be.
