Legal Question in Family Law in California

Uncontested Divorce Attorney Needed

My husband and I of 14 years want to file an uncontested divorce. We have a 13 year old daughter. I, the mother, want no support in lieu of full custody. We have no assets just debt not joint. We will each be responsible for our own debt. We do owe 20k to the IRS which we want to split the payment of on our monthly payment plan. We both will sign the papers and it will be simple and easy. We are in total agreement. I see ads online for $299. What does something like this cost. Can a paralegal do this? Please reply if you can help. We live in Santa Clarita.

Re: Uncontested Divorce Attorney Needed

An uncontested divorce can be found for a variety of ranges depending on your area. You should shop around and ask for the ranges of prices. A range may be from 700 to 2000 would seem normal. I would recomend against a paralegal as I have many clients approach me after they have been abandoned by a paralegal.

Please contact a local attorney in your area prior to taking legal action.

Good luck,
