Legal Question in Family Law in California

Uncontested Divorce. One Child. We agree on everything we need to do as parents, custody arrangements, day care, etc. No child support. Everything is 50/50. So what do i expect at my Status Conference? and When will my divorce finally be finalized?

The status conference will give you a date for a trial and also tell you the remaining paperwork that needs to be submitted in order to complete the divorce. You both have the option of submitting a joint judgment to the court before the trial date. If it has been more than 6 months since the divorce papers were served on the Respondent, and all the other required paperwork is submitted - the judge will sign the judgment. If you have to use the trial date, then the judge will divorce you if all the paperwork is in order. Someone will then have to prepare a judgment.
