Legal Question in Family Law in California

Uncontested Divorce

My friend is in prison and I helped him file for divorce from his wife. Everything has been done and she did not contest. Now it's scheduled for a uncontested hearing that he can not appear at. What will happen with his divorce? Will it be granted or does he need an attorney?

Thanks for your help in advance..

Re: Uncontested Divorce

Unless he appears the court will take the trial off calendar. If the divorce is uncontested he should submit the dissolution on the judicial counsel form for this purpose. Submitting the divorce on the declaration eliminates the need for a court appearance.
