Legal Question in Family Law in California

It is unethical for an attorney to accept a case only for financial gain? An attorney told my co-woker/friend that he would accept her case, but I read the family code that pertains to her case and there is no chance the court will rule in her favor?

No, and I would have your friend ask teh attorney how teh attorney is going to present the case so your friend can win. It is not wise for a lay person no matter how intelligent they are to make statements such as you have made about teh law. the is not black and white. It i shades of grey, and tehre are MANY nuances in family law that an attorney may know taht are not in teh code i.e. case law, teh relationship with teh court, the lawyers trail abilities, mediation, settlemenbt, etc.
