Unmarried Father's Rights

Hello, My boyfriend has a one month old baby girl and lately the mother has been thretening to not allow him to see her. Then just the other day she assulted him with his daughter in his arms in her front yard. She refused to let him leave with the baby so he called for ride home and when he got home he called the police and they said they couldnt do anything. she doesnt work she lives at home with mom. he works he was in the army for four years and i was wondering how he would go about gaining FULL custody of his daughter. There are many sites but i thought i'd ask some professinals. Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my question. Much appriciated. He needs to file a petition to establish paternity. If your boyfriend is determined to be the father the court will make appropriate custody/vistation orders.

The first step is for your boyfriend to file a paternity action. That is the route to establish his legal relationship with his child, including orders for custody & visitation.
