Legal Question in Family Law in California
URGENT!Please I don't have time!!!
Hi there! I live in California as a permanent resident for the past 7 years and divorced 2.5 years after a marriage with an American citizen. Also I've been living with another American citizen here(husband to be) and have a child with him. Now we decided to visit my country first with a tourist passport for him and our kid. They told me my divorce might be related to my greencard sponsorship because my ex is my sponsor. wOULD IT BE AN ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY TO GET AROAD???I THINK IT SHOULDN'T BECAUSE MY FIANCE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PAST. We're even thinking to get married over there in my country so I can change my last name from the first marriage. We're getting the tickets this week so please we don't want any surprises with the border people, thanks a lot !!! I would appreciate all the answers!!! By the way I don't have any kids from that old relationship and I have a divorce date of 2004. I just still have his darn last name..

You should contact an immigration attorney immediately because your immigration concerns are more pressing than your divorce concerns.
Please contact an attorney if you have futher questions.
Good luck.
