Legal Question in Family Law in California

Valid Authorization of Custody

I signed a noterized authorization of custody to my mother so she could care for my child. 6 months later, my child was living with his long term day care provider. The provider filed for guardianship of my child. I signed documents allowing what I believed was nothing more than my authorization for the provider to act on my behalf as to the wellfare of my child. Now the provider has refused visitation and has ''taken'' my child. What do I do? Does my mother have legal custody and did I even have the authority to grant guardianship to the provider? Please help.

Re: Valid Authorization of Custody

You need to retain an attorney in the area where the guardianship was obtained and move to get it set aside. Do not delay. It may already be too late.
