Legal Question in Family Law in California

the validity of our marriage

Shortly after we were married I learned that my husband had not been divorced from his prior wife yet. We consulted an attorney and he told us that we had to go through the ceremony again, after my husband's divorce became final. He said, otherwise it wasn't a valid marriage. We both agreed not to bother to go through with a ceremony but held ourselves out as husband and wife. Now, 6 years later, we are getting "divorced". Am I entitled to support or a portion of his pension even though I knew that the marriage to him was not valid?

No, your chances of getting anything are almost zero.
