Legal Question in Family Law in California

Verbal contract

I had a verbal agreement with my roommate, she promised that my son and I would never be homeless. A couple of days ago, she kicks me out and keeps my son at her house. I have no money and no place to go--I was appling for a day care provider and I haven't cleared DOJ yet. She is threating to take him away from me.

take your son to a womens shelter. if you gave any consideration for the agreement, you might have some recouse. locate an attorney though legal aid.

Go back to the apartment or home and tell her you are there to pick up your son. If she refuses, call the police.
