Legal Question in Family Law in California

violence with step-children

My children were visiting my ex who has a 12-year-old stepson. The stepson is allowed to carry knives and pulled one out in the faces of both of my children. I had a talk with my ex, and it was like talking to a blank wall. He seemed to think it was silly. I told him that I did not want our children left alone with the stepson. The knives were taken away from him, but my ex continues to leave the children alone together, and told the kids that my concerns were unreasonable. What can I do?

Re: violence with step-children

Your ex-husband may need a court to explain to him the seriousness of the behavior. File a motion with the court to modifiy child sharing to limit or supervise any contact with the step-son. It seems your only option at this time. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
