Legal Question in Family Law in California

Visitation of Grandchild

I am the legal guardian of my 5 year old grandson for almost 2 years. He is my son's child. His mother was killed in 2002. I received a order for court by the other grandmother asking for visitation.(the mother's mom)

what rights does she have?? Even his father cannot see him without my consent. Does she have any rights to the child??

What are her chances of vistation?? Please let me know a.s.a.p.

Thank You

Re: Visitation of Grandchild

You have not provided any information which would indicate that visitation would not be allowed. The fact that your son's contact witht he child is limited does not support denying visitation to the maternal grandmother. Unless there is something about the maternal grandmother that would be detrimental to the child she will most likely get some visitation.
