Legal Question in Family Law in California

Visitation Rights

My husband was divorced in North Carolina and his ex and daughter are back in Cali. He has court ordered visitation and should have her every summer. The mother refuses to talk to him when he calls. He hasn't seen his daughter in three years. What can we do?

Re: Visitation Rights

You need to get an ORDER in California as that is where jurisdiction is....where the child resides, in this case. Please call me directly at (619) 222-3504.

Re: Visitation Rights

If you husband is not in California, or any state other than North Carolina, he should register the order in California and file motion to set a child sharing schedule. If he still lives in North Carolina, he should contact an attorney about enforcing the order that he has or changing custody to himself. The courts are his only remedy if she does not cooperate.
