Legal Question in Family Law in California

Visitation Rights

I am from Texas, but my son has been in California for over 6 months. I am divorced and have been having trouble with visitation rights. I get to see him when she allows me to. In our divorce decree, we weren't specific on the visitation right, and I was wondering if there was a form I could fill out myself, or how I could go about getting a fair visitation schedule. I pay child support every month and am not able to see my child but maybe twice a year for a duration of 2 weeks total. My visitation rights go according to what mood she is in. If she feels like letting me take him for a week, I take him for a week. If she doesn't feel like it, then I don't. I am not even allowed to pick him up for Father's day because she believes that father's day should be spent with them and their new family. I don't understand that philosophy, I'm my son's father. All I want is a fair and set schedule where I can have him for a specified amount of days without having to worry about him being gone after I get back from work (which occurred the last time he was with me, I never got to tell him bye). January was the last month that I have seen him. Thank you.

Re: Visitation Rights

Go back to the TX court that issued the original order and get it modified to give you the visitation you need and to be more specific. then hire a CA atty to take the new TX order into a CA court for enforcement.
