Legal Question in Family Law in California

visitation

me and my x-girlfriend have a son. we have been together up until 3 weeks ago. i have always taken care of my son. i now pay her monthly between 50 nd 80 every two weeks. she said that i cannot pick up my son at all that my visits with my son are to be at her house with her there. i have tried to talk to her about visitation but every time she gets all crazy and causes a scene, so have to leave and my visit with my son is short. what can i do so that the courts do not get involved or do they need to? i love my son and i want to be able to pick him up for a few hours every day or have him for the weekend but she said she is not ready for that. what can i do i am 19 years old help me. does she have the right to do that to me? do i have any rights?

Re: visitation

Get the courts involved quickly. She is establishing a status quo that will favor her later. File a petition to establish paternity.
