Legal Question in Family Law in California

Wage Assignment

I have a child support agreement, and father has stopped payments. I know he is working for his family and getting free room and board. Can I file with the court a wage assignment, (attaching a copy of my order)? What's next? Does the judge sign like any other order? Are there special service requirements that I need to do to make sure it is served on his employer (sister), or will the court clerk mail it to his employer (out of state)? The underlying support order is under Los Angeles jurisdiction.

Re: Wage Assignment

If you have a court order for child support then you could then have it served on his employer. The other approach would be to contact the local child support enforcement office and ask for their help. This will be slower than doing it yourself but it will be cheaper and easier for you.
