Washington common Law

How much time living together constitutes a common law marriage

The email question to me suggests it is a question of California law, but

the title is Washington common law. I can answer for California.

California does not have any "common law" marriages. No amount of time living in

California will constitute a "common law" marriage. California will recognize a

common law marriage where the parties lived in another state which recognizes such

marriages for the period required by that state.
