Legal Question in Family Law in California
Can Welfare Come After Us?
I am getting married to a wonderful man next year who happens to have two kids and a LOSER ex-wife. He has paid his child support on time, every month, regardless of his circumstances and pays for all their health care and sports activities. He ex just recently applied for welfare and was turned down. She is now asking my finance for more money and said welfare will come after him if he does not pay more. We both make a good living and would love to take the kids from this drug addicted loser. We have been told by several lawyers there is no way a judge will give the kids to us unless she is physically abusing them. #1 can welfare come after us? #2 is there any way we can get the kids? #3 are there any lawyers out there wanting the best for the kids and not out for the easy buck with the ex loser wife?
Thanks!

In a general sense, the only legal issue regarding custody of the minor children is what is in the best interests of the children.
