Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am not on any welfare services. I have allowed the state of California to collect my child support and send it to me. But when I go to court they treat me as though they have control over my case. My ex has not reported a second job. I gave them verification of it they did nothing. They said as long as he pays. He has not reported his taxes since 2005. He just took me back to court to get it lowered due to him losing the second job that he never reported in the first place. They do not ask him for bankstatements. Yet they want me to supply them with all of my information. He was suppose to pay $1026 yet they only had him pay $831 Do I have to agree with them? I told them I no longer want them to collect for me. That I want his job to send the money directly to me. They still have not helped. What do I need to do. He has never went half on co-pays or childcare. The Child support order was $750 $250 per child. Childcare is $554. They gave me half in chilcare $ 276 but lowered my child support to $555. Do I need to get a lawyer. We have a move away order due to domestic violence a restraining order. I have minimum money due to us moving three times this year alone. I have recently filed for bankruptcy. I really don't know what to do. The state victims program has moved us twice.

You as the recipient of child support opened up a case with the department of child suport services. If you are not receiving any type of aid, then you have a right to close your case, and pursue child support independently without the assistance of child support services. You should contact the local agency to see if they can close your case, and then you can pursue the child support matter independently without their aid.

or self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
