Legal Question in Family Law in California
This may be a little wide range but the story is, i'm a US citizen currently living in New Zealand, i am 17 and as of 16 or 17 in this country you are a legal adult therefore it doesnt apply here, but my parents have joint custody of me, and my dad cannot move to the US as he is not a US citizen & i am wanting to do jobcorps but my guardian must give guardianship to someone else over in the US until i am 18 if i am to do it, i live with my father & have nothing to do with my mother at all, but they have joint custody, me and my dad are wondering whether because i live with him he can sign over guardianship to someone else or if there must be permission from the other parent(no way in hell thats happening) if that were the case, how would we go about getting sole custody?. look forward to reply asap.
Thanks,
Stuart

Cool name,
Don't know what jobcorps is, but by the time you get this all sorted out, so you can do it over here, you'll be 18 anyway. Suggest you take advantage of any education opportunities you can get your hands around over there - as they're getting cut to the bone over here.
