Legal Question in Family Law in California

HI My wife and I adopted a 7 year old girl 4 years ago. The girl is now 11 and she hates us!! What can we do to undo an adoption in california so she can live the life she wants to live. MM

You can't undo an adoption any more than you can give away your naturally-born 11 year old child. It sounds like you need to get into family therapy.

I was stunned reading this. When an adoption takes place, the adoptive parents become the legal parents, for all intents and purposes. You and your wife are her parents. You can't terminate being a parent when things don't go your way.

What is the life she wants to lead? On the road, alone at the age of 11?
