Legal Question in Family Law in California

My wife filed a dismissal in our divorce case and she was the petitioner. First I am trying to understand how it is possible for her to file a dismissal and I am the one that originally filed for divorce. Also I want to know what the steps are that I need to take to get the process of our divorce active again. Thank you.
