my wife was given a house and property by her mother after my wife's father died. we are getting divorced. do I get half?

No, you most definitely do not get half. If your wife had to pay a mortgage or other expenses of owning the house, or made improvements to it, and use earnings earned, or assets acquired by you both during the marriage, then there may be a reimburement claim.
