Legal Question in Family Law in California
My wife and I.have been separated for over 9 months now. Upon her leaving the state her and her lawyer and I agreed upon property and financials and not child custody. Now she says she doesn't agree on anything but she just traded one of.our vehicles in.for a new one. Can she do this and if.not what can I.do about it?

It all depends on whether a divorce petition was filed and summons issued and served or not. If she filed a petition and summons, or was served, she was under automatic restraining orders not to dispose of any property, which certainly would include vehicles. So she would be subject to a contempt of court proceeding. If you were negotiating without having filed, however, she was free to do anything she could have done before you separated.
