Legal Question in Family Law in California

My wife left me and took the kids with her. She said that she does not feel safe. I asked her how long she has been feeling this way and she said weeks. I asked why she is only leaving now and she said she didn't have a plan until now. However, she wants to drop them with me daily while she does other things. Can she take them? If she does not feel safe, why leave the kids with me at all? Also, I am afraid that she might have a psychiatric condition and has stopped going to therapy (she is still on antidepressants and benzos), but I worry that she might be bipolar. I am worry about negative effects on my kids. is there anything I can do?

If you don't have any court orders involving parenting your children, you should be going to the court and acquiring them. If you think that you and your wife are going to continue to work on your relationship, I would strongly suggest that you and your wife attend marriage counseling for a significant period of time.
