Legal Question in Family Law in California

My wife left the me 6 months ago and is currently living with her mom. She is not working. Prior to her leaving we signed a financial agreement stating that I would continue to pay for her Health and Car Insurance, along with major car or medical expenses. Her mom (my Mother in law) is sending me bills for my wife to live there, saying that this is the amount that I owe her. My question is: Am I obligated to continue to support my wife outside of the agreed upon expenses and send her mom a monthly support? I don't feel as if I should send anything, but wanted to get a legal opinion. Thanks!

Unless and until your wife files for divorce or legal separation, and obtains an order for spousal support, you have no legal obligation to pay anything. You would never under any circumstances owe her mother anything.
