Legal Question in Family Law in California

Wife walked out

My wife walked out and is living with another man. There is no legal separation and no divorce pending. She receives her retirement and a portion of my social security and I also provide her with medical insurance. I received a letter from her lawyer outlining other perks she is requesting and a date to appear in court. Since we are still married and it was her choice to leave am I required to fulfill her requests? Many thanks

Re: Wife walked out

What if anything you would be required to give her would depend upon the specific facts of your case. Depending upon the length of the marriage she will have a little or large interest in your retirement benefits. Medical insurance coverage will cease when the marriage is dissolved.

You are focusing on her leaving instead of understaning your rights and obligations, and how to protect yourself. I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
