Legal Question in Family Law in California

My ex wife to be and I will be filling for divorce soon, and the only thing we should have significant differences about is child custody. I'm planning on moving back to my boat which is the place I use to live before getting married. would that affect me should there be a custody dispute?

That would depend on your boat, both in terms of suitability for the kids to live there, and relative location to school, activities etc. You don't need a lawyer to tell you that if you're living on the Maltese Falcon, you're in better shape custody wise then if you are living on Stand By. It also depends on the age of the kids and if they will be safe on the boat. Living on a boat may be OK for a teenager who can swim, but not so suitable for a small child.
