Legal Question in Family Law in California
Can my wife's husband legally adopt my daughter ? How can I prevent that ?

If you have legal or physical custody, they will have to terminate your parental rights. You can object, but remember if the adoption is granted, you no longer have to provide money to support the child; the new father will be legally obligated to support the child. You will always be the biological father, no one can take that from you, ever! Please, do what is best for the child and try to keep other issues out of it. If you participate in the child's life and are there for the child; then the adoption will be likely be denied. If you are absent from the child's life and this is hurtful to you, try hard to just think what is best for your child. If you think the new man is not fit to be a father, tell the court why. Children need their father figures if possible, biological or otherwise, if a good father figure is available, it is better than a life without a father figure. If I am offending anyone in a same sex marriage or relationship with the way I am wording this quick response, I apologize. My view is children need role models of both sexes whether family members or just father figures and just mother figures. I support any form of functional and loving family unions! Good luck!
